Helpful information

What form should I ask my new starter to complete?
If your employee does not have a P45 from their previous employer yet, or does not have one at all, please ask them to complete a starter checklist as advised by HMRC. Provide this form with the information you send over to the Pride Payroll team to ensure your employee is on the correct tax code for their declared circumstances.

What is the National Minimum Wage for the current tax year?
National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates as per HMRC rules.

How do I claim the employment allowance?
The Pride Payroll team will ask you to confirm your eligibility as per the HMRC rules and we’ll apply this to the payroll and let HMRC know on your behalf, leaving you to sit back and enjoy the allowance and put the money to better use within your business.

How do I claim back statutory payments?
The Pride Payroll team will take care of this for you via real time information submissions to HMRC when we process your payroll. You’ll see the reclaim shown on your P32 report that you receive once all payrolls are closed for the month and so will be reflected in the amount you pay to HMRC. The reclaim percentage is usually 92% of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) and Shared Parental Pay (ShPP), however, if you’re a small employer this can increase to 103%, check your eligibility here and let the Pride Payroll team know if you are considered a small employer for the small employer’s relief (103% reclaim).

Please note, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is NOT reclaimable and therefore is an employer cost.
